Scouting is fun with a purpose and that purpose is to raise boys and girls who respect themselves and others and who have strong character. Pack 1831 is dedicated to a lively Cub Scout experience with activities that capture the interest of our Scouts yet are fun for the entire family.
Things We’ve Done:
Pack Hikes - Police and Fire Station Visits – Christmas Parade – Community Clean-ups – Baseball Games – Camping
Outdoor Adventures:
Pack 1831 Cub Scouts have many opportunities to enjoy camping and the great outdoors. Our Pack camps as a group no less than once a year. This is “family camping” where the whole family is encouraged to participate.
During the summer, day camp provides four days of fun filled games, crafts, archery, bb-guns, swimming and activities for our younger scouts. For our older cubs there is overnight scout camp complete with flag ceremonies, swimming, boating and entire program based on Webelos level achievements.
What Pack 1831 is Not:
Not Exclusive: We welcome boys and girls from families of all backgrounds.
Not a specific religion: Scouting intentionally embraces a belief in a higher power and offers achievement awards in more than 25 of the world’s religions.
Not day care: You should plan to attend meetings and events and be with your son or daughter. Cub Scouting is not intended to be a drop-off activity. Our activities are parent/child oriented. Parents provide our pack and den leadership and everyone is expected to do their part to help run pack and den activities.
Other Pack 1831 Activities:
Rocket Launch- Cubs build, paint and race rockets every fall.
Pinewood Derby- Cubs participate in this classic event as they design and race their own wooden race cars.
Service- Our annual Scouting for Food drive, Toys for Tots program, neighborhood clean ups and stream clean ups are some of the ways our Scouts give back to their community.
Blue & Gold- Our annual banquet celebrating the birthday of BSA complete with entertainment and lots of good food.
Regatta- What better way is there to start summer than racing toy sailboats while wading in a creek?
